Q. How much does it cost?
A: Rates vary by location and event. Rates are provided upon request by submitting the date and city of the event along with your contact info so that we can get back to you.
Q: How long is the show?
A. A typical show is between 15 – 30 minutes and may be broken up into one or two sets. The dancer may use props such as finger cymbals, swords, veils, and candles. When appropriate, the show may include audience participation, for example, the guest of honor may be asked to belly dance!
Q. Is it appropriate for children?
A. Yes, the belly dance show is family friendly. Children often love to dance, too!
Q. Who provides the music?
A. The belly dancer provides a music CD and the venue should provide the sound system (louder is better). Usually the dancer will stay out of sight until the CD has begun playing.
Q. What kind of music is used?
A. Depending on your preference, music can range from classical Arabic to modern pop. Kamini’s music collection includes everything from classical Arabic to Bollywood hits, Bhangra, and Balkan influenced belly dance music.
Q. Is tipping appropriate?
A. Yes. Unless the host has requested otherwise, the dancer will gladly accept tips. Tips may be tucked into the dancer’s belt, or dropped in the dancer’s basket.
Q. What if I need more than one belly dancer?
A. With enough advanced notice and depending on schedules, more than one belly dancer may be booked.
Q. How far in advance should I make the booking?
A. It is always better to book the show sooner than later. If you are flexible about the time that the show begins, last minute shows can often be worked in. However, at least a weeks notice is preferred.
Q. What about out of town shows?
A. Kamini lives in the Bend area. Shows and workshops outside of Central Oregon will need to be booked well in advance.
